  • EIRB Annual Report 2014-2015

    This year, the EIRB continued its review of the Beaufort Sea Exploration Joint Venture Drilling Program, focusing on developing an Environmental Impact Statement Terms of Reference and determining a Worst Case Scenario. The Board launched a new website for improved public access and conducted community tours to facilitate participation in the review process. The Board also conducted training and development programs for its members on offshore exploration drilling and other relevant topics.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2013 – 2014

    The EIRB Annual Activity Report for 2013-2014 details the Board’s operations, including a significant review of the Beaufort Sea Exploration Joint Venture Drilling Program. The Board underwent changes in membership and welcomed new staff to support this work. The report covers the Board’s internal development programs, aimed at enhancing understanding of offshore drilling technologies, and emphasizes community engagement and transparency through its public registry. The financial section of the report outlines funding sources and expenditures, with a detailed financial summary provided in an appendix.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2011 – 2012

    The EIRB’s activities in this year included the ongoing public review of the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway project, which was a significant focus for the Board. This year also saw continued efforts in updating the Board’s operating procedures and ensuring compliance with environmental assessment standards. The Board worked on enhancing its public engagement strategies and transparency in the review process.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2010 – 2011

    The EIRB conducted a public review of the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway project, continuing into the next fiscal year. The Board updated its operating procedures, ensuring consistency with current practices and making them available to the public. A significant agreement was reached with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA), allowing the EIRB to satisfy the requirements of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act during its review. The Board also saw changes in membership and benefited from contractual work and legal advice to manage the public review and guide revisions to operating procedures.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2009 – 2010

    The EIRB’s activities included reappointment of a Board member, development of a new registry site, revising operating procedures, and hiring new staff. The Board adjourned the “Umiak Drilling Completing and Testing Project: 2008-2011” and focused on enhancing its review processes. The Board also welcomed Cathy Cockney for another term and introduced Eli Nasogaluak as the new EIRB coordinator.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2008 – 2009

    The EIRB’s activities this year centered on preparing and initiating the public review of the Beaufort Sea Exploration Joint Venture Drilling Program proposed by Imperial Oil Resources Ventures Limited. The Board worked closely with the National Energy Board to design a review process that avoids duplication and overlap. Board training and development programs were tailored to the complexities of the proposed Development. The EIRB also revamped its website and revised its Rules of Procedure.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2007 – 2008

    During this year, the EIRB had no reviews to conduct. The Board focused on administrative matters, including transitioning to digital operations with the creation of a website and an electronic registry. Efforts were made to enhance the Board’s visibility and accessibility to the public.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2006 – 2007

    The EIRB dedicated this year to reviewing and updating its operational procedures, with a focus on ensuring compliance with evolving environmental assessment regulations. No significant project reviews were undertaken, allowing the Board to concentrate on internal developments and strategic planning.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2005 – 2006

    This year was marked by administrative strengthening and procedural improvements for the EIRB. Emphasis was placed on training and development for Board members, as well as on enhancing public engagement and transparency in the review process.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2004 – 2005

    The EIRB primarily focused on refining and streamlining its review processes. No major reviews were conducted during this period, allowing the Board to enhance its procedures and guidelines to better align with environmental assessment standards and regional development needs.

  • EIRB Annual Report 2003 – 2004

    The EIRB focused on two major reviews: the WesternGeco Mackenzie Delta River 2D Seismic Program and the EnCana Corporation Proposed Corral Bay 2D Seismic Program. The Board also worked on criteria for establishing acceptable environmental standards in the Husky Lakes Area and discussed process duplication avoidance for potential pipeline projects in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. The financial summary reflects funding through contribution agreements with DIAND and the Government of the Northwest Territories.
