The Environmental Impact Review Board (EIRB), the Environmental Impact Screening Committee (EISC), and the Wildlife Management Advisory Council (NWT) (WMAC (NWT)) regret to inform the community of Ulukhaktok that the planned visit in February 17, 2026 was unable to proceed due to weather-related travel disruptions.
Safety of community members, staff, and travelers remains our top priority. Unfortunately, adverse weather conditions made travel to Ulukhaktok unsafe during the scheduled tour period.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may have caused and recognize the importance of meeting directly with community members to share information, listen to concerns, and strengthen working relationships.
EIRB, EISC, and WMAC (NWT) remain committed to engaging with Ulukhaktok and will work toward identifying a future opportunity to visit the community.
