EIRB Welcomes Clay Balsillie to the Board

The Environmental Impact Review Board (EIRB) is pleased to welcome Clay Balsillie, appointed to the Board on December 11, 2025.

Mr. Balsillie brings more than 30 years of experience in Indigenous relations, treaty implementation, intergovernmental negotiations, and environmental conservation. He currently serves as Project Coordinator for the Slave/Taltson Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas Project (STIPCAP), leading strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and conservation initiatives.

He previously served as Director of Aboriginal Consultation and Aboriginal Relations for the Government of the Northwest Territories, where he led implementation of the GNWT Consultation Framework and advanced intergovernmental agreements with Indigenous governments.
